2018 Flu outbreak -

Practice Nurses

Our practice nurses have surgeries by appointment and are present at clinics. They are available for advice or special procedures. If you would like to be seen please book at reception or by telephone.

They are generally available at Ludgershall & Tidworth 09:00 – 17:00, Monday - Friday.district_nurse.jpg

Amongst other work they help with:

  • Immunisations
  • Cervical smears
  • Dietary and other health advice
  • Travel vaccinations
  • Asthma & diabetic clinics
  • Advice about minor ailments and injuries
  • Ear syringing
  • Dressings
  • Over 75 year old health checks
  • Contraception and Sexual Health Clinics
  • Removal of stitches

Other Services

Transport for Hospital Appointments

Hospital Transport is only arranged through the doctors in the case of medical need. Please make a request for transport to your surgery reception. Two working days notice are needed for transport to be booked.

Contraception and Sexual Health

A full range of contraceptive services is provided by the doctors during surgery hours or in the well woman clinic. IUCD (coil) fitting and contraceptive implant fitting is by prior arrangement after discussion with a doctor.  For more information on No Worries and Sexual Health clinics, choose Sexual Health & No Worries from the menu on the right.

Cervical Smear Tests

We generally suggest that cervical smears are done every three years between 25-50 years of age and every five years from 50-65. If you feel your appointment is overdue, please check with the practice. The test can be done either in surgery or with a nurse by appointment.

"Smoke Stop" Clinic

This is a weekly support clinic for those that actively wish to stop smoking. A walk-in clinic is at Ludgershall surgery on Wednesday from 17:00-18:00 and bookable appointments are also available at Tidworth (please ring the surgery to arrange a suitable time).
