Breast Sceening for Women Aged 70 - 79

As you will have seen on the news, some ladies did not receive an invitation for a final screen, as part of the routine NHS Breast Screening Programme.  For more information on this, please see our Latest News page.

Routine Appointments

calendar.jpgThe practice has an appointment system for GPs and nurses based on ten-minute consultations. These can be made in person or by telephone up to 4 weeks in advance. The practice also has routine surgeries outside of normal working hours (early morning and late evening).

To provide you with the best healthcare, we need to ensure that you have the correct length of appointment with the most appropriate clinician. Please be prepared to give our reception team a brief explanation of your needs. There is no obligation to give this if you feel uncomfortable, however it makes our service more efficient to all of our patients and your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

  • Ludgershall - Tuesday morning appointments with the doctors from 07:00 until 09:00
  • Tidworth - Monday evening appointments with a doctor.  Thursday evening appointments with a doctor or nurse.  From 17:30 until 20:00

Please contact the practice for more details.

If you would like to be able to book your appointments online, please please contact the surgery who will be able to give you a username and password (please allow at least an hour for this facility to be enabled).

If you already have a username and password you can access SystmOnline via the link at the top of this page to book appointments.

Urgent Appointments

From Monday to Friday, these requests are put on the telephone triage list, where a doctor or nurse will speak to you and assess the problem to decide the best course of action - either advice and/or treatment over the 'phone, a home visit or an appointment with the doctor, nurse or other health professional. The Triage system runs from 08:00-09:45 and then 13:30-14:45 Monday-Friday.

Seeing a Doctor or Nurse

Whilst you will be registered with a doctor, you are free to see any doctor of your choice within the Practice.  However, if a problem is urgent, you may be asked to see the "on call" doctor.  For an ongoing illness, we hope that you will continue with the same doctor for that problem.

All doctors and nurses work at both surgeries through the week.  The two surgeries are computer-linked so appointments may be made at either surgery for any practice appointment - but please remember to go to the right surgery for your appointment!

Practice Nurses

In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse rather than a doctor. Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many ailments and you may be seen more quickly.

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
